Comprehensive Plan Update

Welcome to Coburg, Oregon sign along Van Duyn St.

Cities in Oregon are required to maintain a Comprehensive Plan over a 20 year period.  They reflect the comments, suggestions, and vision of City residents and express that vision in its land-use policies, regulations, and zoning district boundaries. Cities' Comprehensive Plans and implementation ordinances must comply with applicable Statewide Planning Goals adopted by the Land Conservation and Development Commission as the result of a 1973 state law.

Coburg's Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2005.

It is time to update the Plan.  A couple preliminary steps were taken in 2016-2017.  First, a Community Visioning project was completed. Community Visioning is both a process and a project to establish a mission statement based on the community's values and aspirations.  This will be an important contribution to developing a Comprehensive Plan update.
